Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account or using Project Karma, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

What Karma is

Project Karma is a productivity game delivered as a progressive web app. Core use is free. An optional paid subscription called Guru unlocks cross device sync and related premium features. The current price is six dollars per month unless otherwise shown at checkout. We may adjust the scope of free and premium features with reasonable notice.

Accounts

You must be at least thirteen years old to create an account and you must provide accurate information. Authentication is provided through Clerk using Google OAuth. You are responsible for activity on your account and for maintaining the security of your device and session. We may suspend or terminate accounts that are used for abuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

Subscriptions and billing

All payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo handles payment processing, invoicing and tax, and will appear on your statement. The price shown at checkout applies to the current billing period. If we change the price, we will provide notice in advance and the new price will apply from the next renewal.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time. After cancellation you will retain access to Guru until the end of the current paid period. Taxes are collected by Dodo where required. If a payment fails, Guru access may be paused until payment succeeds.

Refunds

Please see our Refund Policy for details. In summary, monthly charges are non refundable. You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. If you have concerns about a charge, contact us and we will review your request. Renewal charges are non refundable except where required by law.

Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer the service, scrape it at scale, bypass premium controls, abuse rate limits, upload unlawful content, or attempt to access other users data. Local modification of your own browser state is permitted. Server abuse is not.

Intellectual property

We own the code, design and copy of the service. You retain rights to content you create, such as tasks and chronicle text. You grant us a license to store and sync that content to provide the service. Third party assets such as emoji and sounds remain under their original licenses.

Availability

Project Karma supports offline use through its service worker, but sync and payments require connectivity. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is without warranties to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee specific productivity outcomes or permanent preservation of data beyond best effort sync.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the three months before the claim, or ten dollars if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app or by contacting us. We may terminate access for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, Guru access ends at the end of the current paid period and local data remains on your device until you clear it.
